Community Supported Agriculture

What is CSA at Perennial Gardens?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) on Nantucket has become a popular way for local residents and restaurants to buy seasonal produce and herbs directly from the Perennial Gardens farm. This mutually supportive relationship creates an economically stable farm operation in which residents and restaurants are assured the highest quality produce at often below retail prices. In return, Perennial Gardens is guaranteed a reliable market for a diverse selection of produce and herbs.

Here are the basics: we offer a certain number of "shares" every season. Those interested may purchase a share (aka a "membership" or a "subscription") and in return receive a weekly basket allotment of seasonal vegetables and herb delicacies each week throughout the farming season.

Here are just a few ways our CSA programs reward both you and Perennial Gardens:

-       Serve ultra-fresh food with all the flavor and vitamin benefits
-       Help local farming by supporting Perennial Gardens’ CSA programs
-       Demonstrate healthy eating habits for yourself and your children
-       Supporting Perennial Gardens is supporting the care of our soil and planet
-       Learn about new foods and new ways to cook with them
-       Local food travel limits the number of miles from the farm to the plate
-       Exposure to a variety of regional produce
-       Find out that certain produce and herbs aren’t just good for you, they’re tasty too!

Perennial Gardens’ CSA programs are a very simple idea, but its impact continues to be profound.

We look forward to hearing from you and your help in growing the future family of friends and food.
